We're Excited to Kick Off Our Second Annual "Warm Gear for Bankhead" Campaign!
Last year, with the incredible support of friends, family, and community members, we raised enough funds to assemble and donate 100 cold weather kits for patients in need at the Good Samaritan Health Center of Atlanta on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. Your generosity made a real difference—and inspired us to keep going.
Why We Give: Supporting The Grocery Spot & The Thrift Spot
This year, we're proud to partner with The Thrift Spot, a cornerstone of community empowerment in the Bankhead area. Together, our goal is to go beyond last year's success by creating 75 warm weather kits for adults and 50 toy kits for children in need.
At first glance, The Thrift Spot looks like a neighborhood thrift store selling gently used furniture, clothing, and household goods at affordable prices. But behind the racks and shelves lies something much bigger: 100% of The Thrift Spot's proceeds go directly toward funding The Grocery Spot, Atlanta's first community-funded and supported free grocery store.
About The Grocery Spot
Established in 2021, The Grocery Spot is redefining what food access looks like in Atlanta. Their mission is simple yet transformative: to provide equitable access to fresh, nutritious food for all neighbors—no barriers, no judgment, and no cost.
The Grocery Spot believes that food is a right, not a privilege. Their vision extends beyond groceries; they're building a space rooted in empowerment, equity, and collective resilience—a place where dignity, community, and opportunity thrive side by side.
By supporting The Thrift Spot and The Grocery Spot, every donation fuels a cycle of giving: clothing sales fund groceries, groceries feed families, and families build stronger communities.
How Warm Gear for Bankhead Helps
In partnership with Giving Grace ATL, all warm weather kits and children's toy kits will be distributed for free this holiday season, ensuring they reach families who need them most.
Our goal this year is to create 75 warm weather kits for adults and 50 toy kits for children, spreading warmth, comfort, and joy to our neighbors this winter.
Every contribution—big or small—helps keep someone warm, a child smiling, and our community thriving. Together, we can make this season brighter for Bankhead.
